Truffled French Toast

We "truffed up" a breakfast staple: French Toast. The added Truffleist Black Truffle Granola adds a crunchy and unique element that you didn't know you needed. 

EQUIPMENT

  • Whisk
  • Non-stick griddle or pan

 

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 each eggs
  • 2 cups milk, half and half or heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon powder
  • 3 TBLspoon sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 4 thick slices Brioche, sourdough or white bread (day old or slightly toasted)
  • 2 tablespoons The Truffleist Black Truffle Granola with Honey
  • Seasonal fruit
  • Neutral oil or clarified butter for cooking

  

PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Mix the eggs, milk (half and half or heavy cream), vanilla extract, cinnamon powder, sugar and a pinch of salt together.
  2. Soak stale or toasted bread in batter until the liquid is absorbed but not soggy.  
  3. Pan fry with oil or clarified butter in non stick pan or griddle.  
  4. Finish in oven until center is hot. 
  5. Drizzle with maple syrup 
  6. Generously sprinkle Truffleist Truffle Granola over the top.
  7. Serve with your favorite berries or fruit.
